THE GOOD FRIEND

A true friend, is the one with whom a man or a woman
may safely associate,
Will always stick closely to the right way,
Will worry secretly about his/her friend’s welfare,
Will console him/her in misfortune,
Will offer him/her a helping hand when he/she needs it,
Will keep his/her secrets safe, and
Will always give that friend good advice.
It is very difficult to find a friend like this.
So, one should try very hard to be a friend
like this to others.
As the sun warms the fruitful earth, so does a good
friend shines in society because of his/her good deeds.
SELF UNDERSTANDING

One who is influenced by his or her likes and dislikes
cannot rightly understand the significance of
circumstances, and tends to be overcome by them.
One who is free from attachments rightly understand
circumstances, and to him or her all things become
new and significant.
